How to Watch on Windows or Mac Using VLC

This guide explains how to watch your LuminaryTV channels on a Windows PC or Mac using VLC Media Player, a free and popular video player.

What you'll need:

Your M3U URL (sent to you after signup, also visible in your client area under My Services).

VLC Media Player, free to download from videolan.org

Step 1: Install VLC

Download and install VLC from the official website if you don't already have it.

Step 2: Open a network stream

Open VLC, then go to Media (Windows) or File (Mac) in the top menu, and select "Open Network Stream".

Step 3: Enter your M3U URL

Paste your M3U URL into the network URL field and click Play.

Step 4: Browse channels

VLC will start playing the first channel in the playlist. Open the Playlist panel (View menu, then Playlist) to see and switch between all available channels.

Troubleshooting

If nothing plays, double check the M3U URL was copied in full with no missing characters or extra spaces.

If playback is choppy, check your internet connection speed and close other apps using bandwidth.

VLC does not save an EPG guide by default, channel names are shown but program schedules may not appear.

Still stuck? Open a support ticket with the exact error message you see.
